A Special Festive Meeting at Lodge St David 133.
On 29 December2023, the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Bro. James Bell, led a Deputation of Brethren from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire to visit Lodge St David (Tarbolton) Mauchline No. 133 who were hosting a 5 Masters meeting and curry night!
The meeting was arranged by Lodge St David's Right Worshipful Master Bro. David Pattison to provide as an opportunity for Brethren to meet and enjoy an evening of fine company, good food and entertainment during the festive holiday period.
Ceremonial Proceedings
The meeting ceremonial was carried out by RWM Bro. Pattison and RWMs from 4 other Lodges in the Province. These were Bro. Iain Murray of Lodge St John (Kilwinning) Kilmarnock No.22, Bro. John Muir of Lodge Burns Dundonald No.1759, Bro. Jim Bell of Lodge Coila St Andrew No.1334, Bro. Stuart Baird of Lodge Tarbolton (Kilwinning) St James No.135 and Bro. Ross Fisher of Lodge Wallace St. Hugh No.1212.
The meeting was aided by Bro. Ian Murray of Lodge Burns Dundonald and the many Brethren in attendance showed their appreciation for the work carried out.
Curry Night
Afterwards, the Brethren enjoyed the 'curry night' including popadoms, spiced onions, chicken curry, nan bread and rice. Some Brethren opted for a more exotic option, with Bro. Gavin Barrie PM from Lodge St James No.135 combining a pie, some beans and the curry!
Evening of Harmony
After the meal, Brethren from various lodges showcased their talents in singing, poetry, and storytelling, creating a memorable atmosphere to mark the occasion. The artists included Bro. Billy Niven from Lodge St David, Bro. Mervyn Stuart from Lodge St James Newton-upon-Ayr, Bro. Alec Shuttleworth Provincial Grand Chaplain, Bro. Neil Adair Lodge St David, Bro. William Dick from Lodge Sanquhar and RWM Bro. Ross Fisher from Lodge Wallace St. Hugh.
Future Festive Meetings
The Brethren agreed with RWM Bro. David Pattison that the meeting was a great success, strengthening the fraternal bonds and friendships between the Brethren. Bro. Pattison said he hoped that this format would be repeated again in future, not only by the 5 Lodges represented, but perhaps by other Lodges who may decide to hold their own similar festive season meetings in future.

RWPGM Bro. James Bell thanked all the Brethren for their attendance, congratulated the 5 Masters on their work and praised RWM Bro. Pattison for arranging such a memorable event.
